As a Project Support Supervisor for our PCL Industrial Management Inc. Tools warehouse in Nisku, AB, you will contribute to our team by:

  • Supervising the loading and offloading of material, equipment and tools
  • Supervising activities in the facility to conform to the yard safety plan and PCL safety manual
  • Arranging freight and completing necessary documentation
  • Ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of inventory tracking is maintained
  • Transferring data from working documents to PCL systems, including entering assets and material information
  • Maintaining a plan for the effective and safe storage of equipment, material, and tools
  • Reviewing orders, production schedules or shipping/receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations
  • Training employees on proper procedure and process in asset preservation and to inventory management
  • Training staff to handle, inspect, and evaluate assets
  • Managing work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflows
  • Managing all aspects of inventory flow
  • Managing Project orders and back orders through to completion
  • Responsible for communicating with Procurement staff, HSE, project teams, other district departments, vendors, and trade contractors
  • Establishing work expectations, performance levels, and decision-making responsibility
  • Supervising yard controls and processes to maximize the utilization of resources
  • Soliciting project feedback and initiating appropriate actions and solutions
  • Contributing to the development and management of department forecasts, budgets, asset inventory, and manpower schedules
  • Compiling various reports as requested
  • Championing initiatives to reduce non-value add activities and streamline processes while maintaining or improving effectiveness

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of supply chain, logistics, or warehouse experience
  • Indirect supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and allocate resources to address shifting priorities
  • Working knowledge of construction tools, materials, and equipment based on own inventory
  • Understanding the storage requirements of inventory
  • Knowledge of financial/managerial accounting. Understands the effects of spending
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb. without restrictions
  • Proficient using Microsoft office and has working knowledge of company material and asset management system
