Like family, we support our staff to always do better.With over 70 locations spanning from coast to coast, and trade links around the globe, P&H is growth-oriented, diversified and vertically integrated with operations spanning across grain merchandising, flour milling, crop input distribution and animal feed production. Skills and experience for the next step in your career. As Quality Assurance Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with our Quality and Food Safety programs by providing support and assistance with documentation, inspections and coordination between departments. In addition, this position will provide coverage to the Lab Technician as needed.Your day to day activities will include:Assist in the maintenance of Quality program and manual which includes but not limited to periodic review and inspections, updating documents, filing and organizing, corrective and preventive action reportingMaintain documents and records in accordance with P&H policies and proceduresReport and communicate with Department Supervisors on matters regarding the results of quality testing and analysisParticipate in Food Safety programs, including maintenance of the Supplier Approval programLiaise with production and office staff on completion of analysis and corresponding documentationParticipate and assist with traceability, mock recalls exercise, audits, customer complaints and inquiriesConduct HACCP audits as required and report to all relevant partiesUpdate SOPs in coordination with Quality Assurance SupervisorEnsure effective control over all non-conforming products by placing products "on-hold" and issuing product reject reports, as requiredSupport and participate in third party, customer and regulatory auditsProvide coverage for Lab Technician as needed The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:Diploma/degree in Food Science, chemistry or related field, or equivalent training and experienceWorking experience with Quality Assurance and Food Safety Management Systems (ISO, BRC, etc.)Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principlesAbility to communicate in French, verbal and written is required.
