Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the incumbent will provide assistance to the Quality Assurance department to ensure conformity to regulatory requirements.
Your day to day activities will include:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on wheat flour mill raw materials, intermediate and finished products
- Participate in a rotation to provide QA coverage for all mill operating days
- Record all analyses and advise the QA Lead Hand of any non-conformances
- Issue Certificates of Analyses as instructed by the QA Lead Hand
- Participate in daily and regularly scheduled housekeeping of the laboratory
- Weekend work is required to support production requirements
The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
- College diploma in Food Science, Agriculture, Chemistry or similar fields OR related experience and at least two years of experience directly coordinating a Food Safety Program
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting is required. Preference is given to those individuals with experience in food processing
- Possess strong communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills and be able to constructively work individually or collaborate within a team environment
- Must have good organizational and inter-personal skills and ability to multi–task and meet project deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
