As the Regional Account Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the continued development of a profitable crop inputs business. This position will report to the Sales Manager-Crop Inputs, working across multiple P&H branches and closely with local staff. The Regional Account Manager will actively position P&H’s product portfolio, programs, contracts and services on farms new to P&H, lapsed from P&H and accounts that are doing fringe business with P&H.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Targeted customer acquisition across multiple branches;
  • Facilitate the building of secure relationships between customers and local branch staff, making P&H’s relationship with new customers multi-faceted;
  • Actively monitor and manage your budgeted sales progress of fertilizer, seed, crop protection, services and contracts
  • Proactively manage credit and accounts receivable within your customer base
  • Maintain and grow the volume of crop inputs business with existing customers and proactively seek out new business opportunities within the region;
  • Monitor market developments and updates to determine competitive price offerings;
  • Coach and mentor junior Sales Consultants, leading by professional example with a highly organized, purposeful sales territory management approach.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with all SW Ontario facilities for smooth operation of the sites, communicating continuously to ensure customer expectations are met on serviceability and product availability

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years in a role related to the sales of crop inputs;
  • Extensive sales training experience and practice would be an asset;
  • Diploma or Degree in business, agriculture or related discipline;
  • Certified Crop Advisor, P. Ag., or related designation would be an asset;
  • Solid understanding of crop input markets;
  • Solid understanding of grain markets would be an asset;
  • Ability to network and build relationships while providing excellent customer service;
