Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Temporary Full Time (Approximately 18 months)

The Toronto Western Family Health Team (Bathurst site) provides comprehensive primary care. As an integral member of the interprofessional team, the chiropodist will provide assessment of the foot and the treatment and prevention of diseases, disorders or dysfunctions of the foot by therapeutic, orthotic or palliative means. The chiropodist also acts as a consultant, participating in holistic client-centered care provided by the TW FHT, and through education and awareness promotes foot health. The chiropodist, subject to the terms, conditions and limitations of her certificate of registration may perform certain authorized acts as specified in Bill 45, subsection 5.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At minimum, a completion of postgraduate Chiropody program, or recognized equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario required
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
- Two (2) years related experience
- Working with diverse multicultural, socially and economically stratified populations
- Community experience an asset
- Experience working with medically compromised clients (e.g. Diabetes, CVD, etc.); knowledge and experience in wound care, biomechanics, and diabetic foot.
- Ability to work independently and interdependently as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to build and maintain departmental linkages
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment

- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation required
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.)
- Fine motor dexterity
