The Registered Nurse at Manning Community Health Centre in Manning, Alberta will be a member of an integrated service delivery team, responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive patient and family care in a combined facility – Acute Care, Emergency and Long Term Care units. Working in a combined facility in a rural community is an excellent opportunity to work at full scope of practice to develop a broad knowledge base and solid nursing foundation. Please note this position is located in northern Alberta, 6 hours north of Edmonton. The town of Manning is located on the banks of the beautiful Notikewin River in northern Alberta, and is known as the ”Land of the Mighty Moose”. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrates strong skills in assessing, planning, providing and evaluating the care of all patients. Evidence of integrity, initiative and sound judgment as a professional. Ability to function effectively as a leader on an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, co-workers, physicians, and public. Ability to provide teaching and emotional support to patient and family. Must be committed to promoting a positive work environment. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining competency through continuous learning, education and experience. Must be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position. Must be able to work shifts. Must possess basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Emergency room experience an asset. Recent nursing in a rural community setting an asset.
