Position Summary
If surgical nursing is your passion and you are a reliable, flexible and motivated registered nurse; we have an exciting permanent part time (0.71 FTE) opportunity for you at the Kelowna General Hospital unit 3E.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Registered Nurse who has strong surgical experience, exceptional clinical and critical thinking skills and the adaptability and enthusiasm to excel in this vascular, plastics and ENT surgical unit.
What will you work on?
The Registered Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client-centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Days of work are rotating, shift types are days, nights and shift times are 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00 hours.
About this location/unit
A 36 bed unit with 1 overflow bed that can have us at 37 patients. 3E is a team based nursing unit with 4 RN/LPN teams, as well as an RN/LPN float for day shift, and an RN float on night shift. 3E is a wonderful unit full of opportunity to consolidate and build nursing skills and competencies. This unit specializes in complex wound care, tracheotomies and plastic surgery.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
*Recent surgical experience would be considered an asset.
