The Role
The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration is seeking a regular probationary faculty member to teach in the Accounting Department.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. The selected individual will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners, maintain quality learner-centered instruction, and will perform other related duties as required.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
Required qualifications:
- A Canadian CPA designation in good standing and a bachelor’s degree
- Relevant tax and data analytics knowledge and experience
- Relevant senior level work experience in a business environment, minimum five years
- Experience in content delivery and presenting to a diverse audience
- Experience in classroom teaching, face to face, blended learning, online formats and a good working knowledge of educational technologies
- Ability to integrate topic specific data analytics into accounting courses
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant master’s degree and/or PhD
- Crypto knowledge and experience
General Qualifications:
- A good working knowledge of computer applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in a team environment
- Be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Qualified to teach the following tax and data analytics courses:
- ACCT 3370 Income Tax I (Individual Taxation)
- ACCT 3470 Income Tax II (Corporate Taxation)
- ACCT 3880 Data Analytics for Managers
and a minimum of two of the following introductory and intermediate level courses in financial and managerial accounting:
- ACCT 1222 Computer Applications for Accounting
- ACCT 3420 Intermediate Managerial Accounting·
- ACCT 4520 Advanced Management Accounting
Optional: Candidates should have senior level industry experience for managerial accounting.
