At North Shore ConneXions Society, our amazing team of Residential Care Workers support clients with disabilities through all their daily living activities. This includes personal care, medication administration, behaviour management, housekeeping and participating in activities around the house and in the community.

Job Title: Residential Care Worker

Location: Lynn Valley House

Job Status: Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $21.63- $25.19/hr

Driver’s Licence Required: Class 4

Use of Own Vehicle Required? No

Hours of Work per Week: 35.5 hours/week

Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, 2:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Sunday 7:00 am – 2:30 pm

Goals and Responsibilities of the Position:

• Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Residential Care Worker provides a comfortable home environment in which individuals with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to live active and fulfilling lives.
• Works as part of a team to ensure that individuals achieve personally meaningful goals for independence, community access, and skill development.
• Supports individuals to become self-sufficient in all areas of daily living.
• Maintains a safe and healthy environment for those you support, for your co-workers and for yourself.
• General administration, report writing, record keeping, and accountability of funds.

Requirements of the Position:

• Certificate in human services or related field (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered). Applicants with a medical background do very well in this position.
• Minimum of six months of relevant experience in a similar environment.
• Experience with challenging behaviours, mental health concerns and delivery of personal care.
• Criminal record check, Valid First Aid, Medical Approval, TB clearance, satisfactory Reference Checks, valid BC driver’s license class 4 with suitable Driver’s Abstract.
