Responsibilities
The General Medical Unit & Emergency Department Secretary will provide secretarial/administrative support to the Patient Care Managers at Eastern Memorial Hospital. Duties will include, but are not limited to, appointment scheduling, assisting with staff schedules, data entry, typing minutes and other documents, filing, and other administrative functions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized office administration, business, office information technology, information systems program, or equivalent experience and education
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a secretarial position required
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Meditech, and Community-Wide Scheduling, with the ability to acquire additional skills (SAP; ASist database), required
- Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 45 wpm
- Superior organizational, communication (listening, oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
A skill test may be included as part of the selection process

Permanent part-time (40%) position, 28 hours bi-weekly
Salary Information
$21.73 – $24.31 hourly
