Our client, a company in the retail industry located in Vaughan, is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join them on 3-month contract to start. The role is working from home and will be in their Vaughan offices part time post Covid.
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accounting Analyst will work with the Finance team to process and review sales audit treasury and other finance related activities.
- Prepare daily/weekly cash flow statement
- Process vendor and other payments through bank
- Download bank, credit card and gift card statements as required
- Reconcile bank statements and online credit card statements to store POS (Point-of Sale) and eCommerce collections
- Monitor sales audit activities and prepare sales and tender reconciliation on a daily basis and ensure correct GL posting
- Act as key person to liaise with other departments to resolve any issues related to stores, eCommerce and finance
- Prepare Sales/Provincial tax payments according to Government deadlines
- Reconcile Bank accounts and various GL accounts
- Process Banking, Merchant fees and other month-end and year-end Journal Entries
- Manage physical inventory and cycle counts process

Job Requirements:
- University degree in Business/Accounting, preference will be given to the candidate with CPA enrollment
- Experience in using ERP software (preferable with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic NAV)
- Experience in cash reconciliation and tender variance investigation in a retail environment
- Good knowledge of general accounting principles
- Minimum 4-5+ years of related work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
