Job Description

The Senior IT Network Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining and implementing solutions that complement a dynamic, always growing and evolving global network for one of the leading organizations in financial services. You will bring a unique perspective to a team that adapts and maintains a secure and reliable network hosted across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

We are looking for a passionate Senior Network Engineer with proven understanding of Network Fundamentals including protocols, switches, routers/firewalls, and other technologies including cloud Infrastructure. You will design and manage the local and wide area networks of our organization to ensure maximum uptime for our users.

• Own and oversee all network architecture/infrastructure across all platforms including endpoints, maintaining and ensuring high levels of network availability and resilience.
• Supporting IT colleagues with resolving a mixture of 2nd and 3rd line tickets and acting as a final point for resolving escalations from their Network Operations team.
• Design and deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, firewalls, load balancers hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
• Work with our teams to ensure the network environment is consistent with goals and is compatible with existing applications and security requirements
• Own & write up-to-date documentation for network configuration and operational procedures, and ensure standards are implemented
• Reassess the effectiveness of network hardware, software, and communications performance on a periodic basis
• Manage backup, disaster recovery and technical business continuity procedures for the network and network resources
• Monitor, diagnose and resolve problems within the Azure, AWS cloud and Q9 (On-prem DataCenter) to ensure systems are stable and performing efficiently (Hardware, Software, Networks).
• Participate in projects to improve and upgrade systems that are hosted within or integrate with All cloud platforms and on-prem
• Ensure the respective teams and stakeholders are kept informed on the progress of any major updates and outages

Qualifications

You Have:

• Bachelor’s/Associates degree in computer engineering or computer science
• 4+ years working within L2/L3 IT Support capacity
• Demonstrable experience with cloud-based networking (AWS/Azure) (Required)
• Proficiency and knowledge of switches, routers, and firewalls, Layer-3 devices, APs (Meraki), specifically with Cisco, Palo Alto, and/or Forti
• Demonstrable experience & understanding of Network Fundamentals, protocols, and technologies TCP/IP, VLAN, WAN, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, TLS, NAT, PAT, VPN, BGP, OSPF
• Configuration/Administration of a NAC (Network Access Control) Cisco ISE/FortiNAC
• Designing, implementing and administering Wi-Fi solution
• Microsoft Server 2008 R2 – 2019
• Terminal Services
• Active Directory/DNS/Group Policy
• VMware vSphere 6.5+
• SAN systems (HPE 3par experience preferred)

Preferred:

• Cisco CCNA is essential, with Cisco CCNP highly desirable. Any other network or telephony qualifications would be an advantage
• Cisco IOS (R&S) including switch stacks, and Core Switches (such as 6500 series), Networking and IP telephony skills in a complex environment
• and/or relevant Azure/AWS accreditations such as MCSE, MCTIP, VCP, AZ-100 to 104, AZ-900, AWS Practitioner, SysOps & Solutions Architect (Desirable)
• ITIL Certified is an asset
