About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst Finance Ops & Planning to join our growing team!

Under the supervision of the Manager Ops & Planning Finance, the Business Specialist will act as a liaison between his colleagues in the Corporate Finance and numerous experts within the company to develop effective business requirements that will serve as the basis for system specifications.

The Business Specialist will lead meetings, facilitate decision making, provide direction and propose strategies to address barriers and contribute to the achievement of established business objectives by leveraging his or her financial knowledge.

What you’ll do here:

  • Define objectives, develop detailed project plans, develop strategies to quantify and mitigate risks, and prioritize business needs for complex projects.
  • Facilitate requirement meetings and seek consensus.
  • Analyze and quantify the impact of business needs on systems and propose optimisation improvements.
  • Identify, record and ensure consistency and efficiency of business needs.
  • Communicate solutions and obtain approval from stakeholders and experts.
  • Guide the development and test teams in the search for solutions. Ensure that the requirements are understood and met.
  • Guide and review deployment plans (IT and business units). Coordinate and quantify defect management during project implementation.
  • Act as a change agent and assist partners in managing change.
  • Contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts and facilitate the work of internal clients

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

  • BAC in business administration, accounting, finance or computer systems management
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and corporate finance. CPA or CFA designation is a major asset
  • Experience in the world of insurance
  • Experience with 52-109/SOX controls
  • Experience working asbusiness analystin a corporate finance team
  • 4to6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with large, national scale projects
  • Knowledge of test management tools, project, Lean, Six Sigma (asset)

Flexible Work Arrangements
