Position Overview:

The TELUS Agriculture and Public Affairs team is searching for a dynamic, engaging team member to help us formulate and drive a best-in-class internal communications strategy. If you are a communicator who thrives in a multifaceted, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, relishes working within a rapidly evolving technology landscape, enjoys collaborating on a variety of projects with internal and external experts, and loves finding new ways to reach and engage with team members, this could be the role for you.

This is a senior level role reporting to a director.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities:

• A proven track record of effectively assembling, educating and leading cross-functional teams
• Working alongside the AOR to continuously improve – best-practice processes and standards for public affairs campaign and programs
• A passion for data-driven insights that inform internal communications
• A process-driven leader who is constantly seeking to tell a compelling narrative to key stakeholders and influencers in a way that resonates with them and enables them to share your story to their circles of influence
• A knack for taking complex ideas and technical explanations and boiling them down into easy-to-understand narratives
• Stellar project management, multitasking and prioritization skills
• A proven track record of driving measurable results while simultaneously improving content and processes
• Knowledge of current digital advocacy and stakeholder communications trends, tools, and platforms
• Issues and crisis communications expertise

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent post-secondary education in communications, political science, public relations, journalism, marketing or digital marketing

Required Experience:

• 5+ years public affairs experience, or a combination of media relations, stakeholder engagement, government relations and social/digital advocacy experience; agency experience and experience operating in a large corporate environment an asset
• Working knowledge of the Canadian telecommunications environment
• Previous experience in a federally-regulated organization is a plus
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset
