As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator with expertise in finding and closing business: someone with natural leadership abilities and a desire to develop talent, compete, and succeed. Senior Construction Estimator As our new Senior Estimator, you’ll have the opportunity to lead our team on critical construction projects and opportunities. While you’ll be engaged in a variety of tasks with a wide range of people, all your work will ultimately drive sales in one way or another. A big part of that will involve oversight of our bidding process. Beginning with sourcing opportunities, all the way through business meetings and client success, you’ll ensure that we have access to the right opportunities and that we have everything we need to execute and retain business. Beyond your direct work on bids, you’ll also improve our existing team and processes. Coaching staff, reviewing documents, and establishing best practices will be critical. Working alongside operations, you’ll ensure fit between our services and our sales. Most importantly, you’ll develop a wide view of our business and find ways to drive it forward. Whether that means adjusting pricing or educating the team, you’ve got the confidence to make real changes and the experience to make them work. Practically speaking, you will: * Seek out, monitor, and develop new and existing business channels * Oversee and participate in developing business proposals and responding to RFPs * Develop detailed knowledge of our brand and services, and generate strategies for bid success on an ongoing basis * Generate competitive estimates that include materials, labour, equipment, etc. * Develop and maintain business relationships with current and potential clients, including government * Attend/review sites and collect data * Negotiate contracts * Coach/mentor junior staff and implement estimation/proposal best practices * Assist enhancements, snow and maintenance in estimation. * Work closely with operations to ensure that our services and offerings align with current market trends and meet client needs; ensure market viability * Stay informed on competitors’ services and pricing Working at CSL Group This is a full-time position, with hours from 8-5, Monday to Friday, working out of our Ancaster location. Qualifications * 10+ years’ experience in construction estimation, with progressively senior roles * Experience working on significant bids/projects for a major corporation * Experience building client relationships and retaining contracts * Experience in construction (ideally landscaping or similar) * Expertise in relevant software (MS Office, Primavera (is an asset), estimation software, etc.) * Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents * Detailed knowledge of relevant codes/regulations/labour laws * Valid driver’s license * Experience with ERP estimation would be a strong asset * Degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering * Professional designation an asset (P.
