The opportunity:
KPMG’s Finance Transformation Advisory Practice helps organizations maximize efficiencies and drive business value across the organization. The Finance function is evolving to become a business partner that supports, provides insights and challenges the business, creating value by improving the quality of decisions and ensuring that a chosen business strategy delivers the highest financial value at an acceptable level of risk. The question we, as KPMG, want to answer is “What can we do to improve what finance brings to the organization?”
What you will do
- Help deliver projects to improve finance functions in one or more functional areas including: budgeting and forecasting, financial close and consolidation, management and financial reporting, cash management and program accounting, working capital management, benchmarking, shared services and/or financial transformation
- Design and implement process improvements and systems within the areas listed above
- Execute the day-to-day activities of advisory engagements for a variety of clients including finance function diagnostic, process redesign, system implementation
- Serve as a liaison between clients and senior management
- Prepare reports and presentations for clients
- Assist with the creation of proposals and other business development activities to help meet revenue targets
- Identify and communicate findings to senior management and client personnel
- Support business development activities such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities; work with the appropriate KPMG resources from other service lines/industries.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field from an accredited university with excellent credentials
- Completion of an Accounting or Financial Designation or MBA
- Three to five (3– 5) years of combined advisory or relevant industry experience in financial management
- Project delivery or consulting experience is preferred
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate with client stakeholders, work closely in a collaborative team environment, and lead teams and project deliverables
- Experience directing meaningful process and strategy improvements that demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work creatively to address client requirement
- Previous experience working with technology that enables finance services, such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, Hyperion, and Business Intelligence tools, is considered an asset
