About this team
This role will support the Outbound Logistics Technology team, bring in engineering best practices in building and deploying microservices version of luluRoute, along with working with a core group of engineers in the legacy version of the application, aka luluRoute, a homegrown application that acts as a parcel execution engine. This application integrates with our Warehouse Management System and Omni systems to retrieve shipping labels and tracking numbers from our carrier partners (e.g., FedEx, USPS, Canada Post) for outgoing packages to our stores and guests, provides a front-end platform for our retail stores to gain visibility of incoming cartons as well as supports SFS functionality in North America and global regions.
As a Sr. Software Engineer focusing on microservices development, you will bring a high level of technical knowledge as well as strong mentoring abilities. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space, as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). Senior Engineers take production readiness and performance personally and help drive continuous improvement. You will be part of a day-to-day production release team and may perform on-call support functions as needed. You will be considered a primary caretaker of the luluRoute platform on and focus on how the platform is delivered and how to optimize it for efficiency, security, resiliency, and reliability.
A day in the life:
- Attend daily stand-up calls to review open dev and support incidents
- Develop and design scalable, secure modern microservices, test driven development, and cloud native design patterns, primarily in AWS
- Use algorithms, data structures, programming language and programming paradigms to create, test and operate sustainable client-side or server-side software applications and services.
- Deliver software that meets architectural and operational requirements and perform to expectations
- Work with teams to add and refine acceptance criteria and the definition-of-done to user stories
- Deliver quality code using test driven development (TDD) approach with minimal bugs
- Partner with all engineers (including quality) on permanent fixes for recurring issues
- Conduct research to aid in product troubleshooting and optimization efforts
- Work with the quality engineering team team to test tech debt fixes and coordinate with development engineers, project managers and release management on any tech debt deployments
- Attend Post-Mortems and work on action items from deployment defects
- Use innovation and automation, when possible, to provide sustainable solutions and scalable performance test results
- Use out of the box thinking approach that alleviates all bottlenecks during development and production support
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience of software engineering experience
- 7+ years of working experience in design and development of RESTful APIs using Java, JSON, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
- 4-5 years of supporting an application through a ticketing system such as ServiceNow or Issuetrak
- Solid understanding of microservices and monolithic architecture that leverages the cloud computing strategy more efficiently
- Strong working knowledge and experience in relational databases with emphasis on SQL query language and stored procedures
- Senior level knowledge of DevOps principles and practices
- Experienced with infrastructure as a code and multi cloud strategy
- Self-starter and has pride in taking initiative

Compensation and Benefits Package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $123,500-$162,100 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
