Our client is the North American wing of a global leader in the export and supply of agricultural food products. Active in over 60 countries our client has mastered the art of trading in a vast array of verticals such as grains, pulses, oilseeds, nuts and spices, sugar, coffee, tea, fertilizer, and rice.
Importing, exporting, storing and transporting many millions of tons of specialty grains and related food commodities, their supply chain is vast and their expertise runs deep.
Experiencing exceptional growth year over year, they continue to add to their total of over 350 processing and Warehousing facilities around the globe and Canada is no exception.
In order to help manage their explosive growth, they are looking for a savvy Senior Financial Analyst to their exciting and dynamic team.
COMPENSATION:

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The incumbent will be responsible for the successful implementation of financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis of revenue and KPIs. With a special focus on Auditing, you will have both prior experience and proven affinity for the specialized and detail-oriented practice of Auditing. The position reports to senior management and has frequent interactions with international business units.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Provide day to day forecasting, reporting and analysis support for client’s Canadian and international operations as necessary to meet the needs of their fast expanding business
- Take the leadership role with all audits, including annual external audit including analysis for auditor’s requirement and processing year-end schedules
- Assist in preparing branch, divisional and organization financial statements.
- Analyze weekly & monthly results
- Reconcile various balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Preparation of recurring and month-end journal entries
- Assess numeracy, accuracy and completeness and compliance of data records
- Maintain/monitor capital expansion costs and assign accordingly
- Fixed Asset management
- Produce flash actual data of weekly financial information
- Prepare financial, analytical and interpretive reports in a timely fashion, including analysis of performance, cash flow, and capital requirements.
- Provide substantial support to the budgeting process.
- Prepare comprehensive financial analysis on a broad range of complex business issues and KPI’s
- Responsible for working on a five-year operating plan, actualized annually as well as annualized budgeting work
- Assist in preparation of up to three financial forecasts per year.
- Provide various analysis relating to company business expenses.
- Monthly manager meetings – preparing presentations for banks and investors.
- Analyze preliminary actual data to ensure material general correctness of reported results
- Continuous review and analysis of the USA and Canada pricing components
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years working in accounting & finance
- Audit Experience mandatory
- Experience working in a multi-currency & multi-entity setting an asset
- Experience with IFRS 9,15
- Reporting & Consolidation experience required.
- Previous experience in Microsoft Dynamics (an asset)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CA or CPA designation
- MBA a significant asset
