Purpose

As a member of the Confluence Information Technology Team, the “Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist, Storage” is responsible for implementation, maintenance and operation of the IT Storage System and controls in accordance with business policies and compliance requirements. International travel may be a requirement of this role. This role is extremely hands-on with advanced enterprise technologies, you will also be required to provide mentorship to the entire IT team.

Essential Responsibilities

Working with the Global Infrastructure Team to deliver a standardized infrastructure strategy.
Ownership of the storage systems by planning, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining storage systems and procedures for deployment and implementation of everyday tasks.
Ensure storage systems are maintained and updated including proactive maintenance.
Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, including performance, connectivity, and availability escalated via team members or monitoring software.
Monitor and troubleshoot daily backups, replication, offsite backup processes, where applicable.
Mentor team members
Document new processes and update existing documentation where applicable.
Physical Datacentre management and maintenance. (travel may be required)
VMware infrastructure management and operations
Server infrastructure management and operations; Windows server and *nix.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years in similar IT System Administration role with a Netapp Focus.

Essential Skills

Deep working Knowledge of Netapp Storage Systems and their portfolio of offerings, including but not limited to FAS and AFF systems.
Knowledge of Storage protocols and technologies; NFS, ISCSI, FC, SMB, etc.
Knowledge of best practices for Netapp systems
Knowledge of Ansible and Ansible Tower specifically for Netapp use cases.
Knowledge of Devops tools; Terraform, Github, Chef, etc.
Knowledge of Networking concepts.
Experience using VMware products as an IT administrator, with advanced skills.
Experience using Cisco networking products considered an asset.
Experience using Cisco UCS compute products considered an asset.
Experience using Window Server technologies.
Experience using Unix/Linux considered an asset.
Experience using Citrix Netscalers considered an asset.
Experience with Nutanix virtualization products considered an asset.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and without supervision.
Able to write clear and precise technical documentation.
