Reporting to the Director, Compliance Finance, this position will support and assist with the financial planning, reporting and analysis of the operating expenses for all areas within Compliance. The role will support both the Compliance project portfolio and Business as Usual
Operations by ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/ delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The primary focus of this position is to provide finance support for the Compliance Program, and is responsible for day-to-day processes, including: reconcile/develop financials for regulatory and management reporting purposes; perform detailed analytical work, draw key messages, and create effective presentations for senior management and stakeholders in a timely manner; and work with internal stakeholders and Business Line Finance teams
Key Accountabilities
Management Reporting, Forecasting & Planning
- Responsible for reconciling financials of the Compliance Program for regulatory and management reporting purposes
- Leads the maintenance and production of forecasting models and reporting decks/power point presentations used to prepare monthly/quarterly management financial reports to Compliance and Business Line stakeholders.
- Ensure that Compliance new projects are approved according to the SIP Approval policy, and lead the business cases review ensuring continued adherence to the Enterprise Delivery Framework
- Support strong financial discipline, and culture focused on prioritization and efficient use of resources, supporting achievement of Compliance financial targets, aligned with Enterprise targets
- Responsible for ensuring project financials are reconciled across multiple systems (Smart Stream, OPEX and CAPPM)
- Maintain/track all project funding artifacts and project FTE and contract resources.
- Manage the month-end cut-off processes/deadlines for all Compliance units.
- Ensures Compliance operating expenses are exercised within approved budget by identifying and investigating variances, reviewing monthly accruals and advising stakeholders on Bank’s expense policies
- Support the Director, Compliance Finance in various ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Customer Service and Relationship Management
- Partner with Compliance management teams to provide timely support, transparency of information, and insights to support effective decision making and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Provide expense allocation transparency to the Business Lines CFO’s with detailed information as required
- Communicate information to all necessary internal and external stakeholders, explaining Financial transactions and resolving related issues.

Experience / Education:
- University degree with major in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- 5-7 Years of relevant experience
- CPA/CFA or MBA would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), including communication with senior management (VP+) as well as convey information to non-finance professionals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including members of the management team of Compliance
- Strong planning and co-ordination skills required to simultaneously support multiple projects and complete deliverables on time.
- Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models, pivot tables.
- Detail-oriented worker.
- Experience in developing/compiling management reports.
