Job description: To act as the general ledger lead and liaison for all G/L and shared services activities in Canada. To be the liaison for finance activities and the deployment of SAP ERP (Controlling) in Canada. Support to the Director of Operations on costing activities. Support the activities and analysis for the Finance Group.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate and act as the direct liaison for all Canada finance activities with the GL shared service group in the US. Ensure the Canadian business is supported to deliver accurate and timely monthly and quarterly closes.
- Facilitate the deployment of SAP Controlling in Canada. This position will act as the go to person for the deployment of all Canadian finance SAP activities. Will work across the finance group to gather requirements and facilitate any SAP Canadian requirements. This will involve regular meeting, discussion and influence with key members of the SAP Deployment team including those in the US or in Israel. Expectation is to be the spokesperson for the Canadian finance requirements and to continue in the capacity of SAP SME for Canada finance post implementation.
- Supervise direct report on the A/R team. This local A/R person will be responsible for all Canadian retail accounts. Will be the direct liaison with the local Teva Sales Organization leads including Sr. Director of Retail. Expectation will be to supervise the transition of the retail accounts from Teva USA, collect on all retail accounts, minimize customer bad debts, improve processes, and establish clear policies. Provide oversight to operations activities including review and approval of work performed by the Snr. Cost Accountant. Oversight of the work will include transitioning those activities from Commercial Cost Accounting. Provide direct feedback to Director of Finance Operations on issues, issue resolution and provide feedback on opportunities for process improvement.
- Serve as resource for financial information internally and with external auditors during audits; perform Ad Hoc requests of detailed financial information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve issues that arise within the GL team as well as assist other stakeholders across the organization. This position will work closely with other Teva sites across the world, as well as with corporate accounting, therefore, strong communication skills are required.
- Other duties as assigned or as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and related experience; CPA License a plus.
- Minimum 6+ years accounting and/or auditing experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with leading/supervising staff
- Public accounting experience highly preferred
- Understanding of quality and manufacturing (basic understanding is sufficient in case of pharmaceutical background)
- Word, Excel, Oracle, SAP, JDE
