Job description: What is the opportunity?
As the Senior Manager, Global IT Risk & Issues Management you will be responsible for leading the IT risk issue management for RBC, including assessing, and developing plans in an effort to mitigate IT risk to RBC. This role will require project management, and coordination with various teams in Global Cyber Security (GCS).
What will you do?
- Lead the implementation and operationalization of new processes related to issue management.
- Act as the single-point-of-contact on the IT Risk strategy/roadmaps. Continually engage and communicate with senior business stakeholders on the progress and status of Initiatives within the portfolio of work so that their feedback is incorporated as part of portfolio level planning
- Drive the execution of relevant IT Risk roadmaps and other related deliverables.
- Support risk remediation by ensuring issue root causes are addressed in a timely manner.
- Work with Business/Technology Leads to ensure that project deliverables achieve the business result that enables value creation. Provide superior client experience and strengthen relationships with all key stakeholders and partners.
- Ensure optimal delivery by removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance
- Seek and promote innovative or improved methods of delivery and implement best practices while ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide Business & IT Architecture.
- Work with Finance team on costs (including amortization / depreciation) and resource availability / allocation and reconciliation.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Excellent understanding of IT Risk space
- Strategic skills to develop long-term visions and the ability to translate them into actionable roadmaps that are broadly accepted
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience within the financial services industry, with experience working in a risk management capacity
- Experience managing IT/Cyber projects with a high level of value (benefit/cost) and a high level of complexity and uncertainty; advanced project management knowledge including plan development and management, scheduling methodology, Agile or Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies, program and project metrics analysis and status reporting
- Ability to make decisions in situations of ambiguity and the absence of complete facts
- Excellent communication, relationship and vendor management skills
- Organizational Change Management experience
