Information Technology Finance (IT Finance) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to assume the role of Senior Manager – Finance. In this role, you will provide direct support to an IT Vice-President and Director team, and provide financial leadership at weekly and monthly VP team meetings. In addition, you will provide business/financial planning assistance and performance management tools to drive business process improvements, and to assist IT in meeting business goals. You will partner with IT planning primes for month end results, provide analysis, and prepare operational budgets and YEEs.

In addition you will partner with IT in the finalization of contracts with external vendors and provide financial analysis and support as well as guidance on any accounting issues or classification.

This position offers the opportunity to:

The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Deliver Performance tracking & reporting to VP clients & their teams on a regular basis
  • Deliver month-end results and contribute to workday results production, and provide consistent objective, meaningful analysis and solutions
  • Conduct forecasting/YEE activities as required, taking action to alleviate pressures through opportunities that are identified
  • Participate with IT during contract negotiations with external vendors, analyze business case financials, assess accounting classification impacts (capex vs opex) and treatment and make recommendations. Assess and implement new accounting policies and procedures as needed
  • Maintaining an effective system of financial internal controls across IT, including ongoing quality assurance procedures to assess the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Conduct special reviews, investigations, and due diligence as required
  • Ensuring the proper maintaining of documentation and records; confirm the appropriate application of accounting policy
  • Communicating with internal auditors and/or accounting advisors

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree (concentration in accounting, finance or a related field)
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA)
  • Strong technical knowledge of current accounting rules (GAAP, IFRS)
  • Strong analytical skills; solid understanding of economic and financial concepts, being familiar with the concepts of time value of money, and economic evaluators such as Net Present Value (NPV), etc.
  • Extensive experience in finance and accounting related work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and professionally with senior management;
  • Proficient PC skills (MS office-Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Knowledge of PEATS, SAP
  • Ability to work within a team, under pressure and respect deadline
  • Capacity to take initiative and ownership of issues and tasks through to resolution
  • Very responsible, reliable and confident
  • Highly organized, independent, and ability to handle multiple requests in order of priority
