Job description: WORK ILLUSTRATION:
Reporting to the Director, IT Portfolio Management Office, the Senior Manager, IT Portfolio Management (Customer Care & Metering) will be responsible for the on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery of IT strategic and divisional projects for the designated business unit(s). Supports the organization’s day-to-day utilization of the designated IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) software applications and business partners. Leading a team of supervisors and professionals, the incumbent acts as the liaison between internal and external environments; collaborates and partners with the business units to execute process improvement initiatives, feasibility studies, and business case evaluations. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for responding to system interruption incidents and acting as first response to assess and dispatch appropriate IT resources to recover and restore services to technology systems.
The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads a team of supervisors, technical and business professionals (internal and external) to deliver on time, on budget, and quality implementation of IT solutions using the prescribed project management methodologies.
Recommends methodologies and IT solutions metrics that best fit the project in support of corporate and IT business goals.
Oversees project plan design and execution, and third- party contracting.
Collaborates and partners with designated business unit(s) to drive decision making and process improvement using best practices, analytics and advanced technologies.
Promotes and encourages business leaders across the organization to drive further optimization, productivity, customer satisfaction and operational excellence using business digital transformation and automation.
Implements IT Asset Management and Lifecycle Model across the designated applications.
Manages the day-to-day implementation, operations and maintenance of the designated suite of IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) applications.
Drives the continuous improvement of IT Project and Application Management methodologies, tools, and processes.
Manages and reports on project status, budget and risks.
Liaises with internal IT stakeholders to deliver end-to-end IT solutions.
Manages third party vendor performance and agreements in delivery and provision of system solutions as per negotiated terms and conditions.
Oversees and manages real-time incident response to designated systems.
Manages reliability and overall health of the designated systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree. Information systems, computer science, engineering, or business preferred.
Master’s degree in business, computer science, engineering (preferred)
PMP (preferred)
Minimum Ten (10) years’ experience in program, project or product management, vendor management
Minimum Seven (7) years’ experience in IT project management, IT operations
Minimum Five (5) years’ progressive project leadership experience; direct supervisory experience preferred
Experience of leading Customer Experience Digitalization systems implementation preferred
Experience in implementing and supporting enterprise applications, customer information systems, grid operations systems
Knowledge of traditional and emerging IT methodologies
Experience in project management, business requirements planning, process engineering and process improvements
Proven track record in developing and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
Financial acumen and project budget management skills
Demonstrated ability to establish plans and manage project execution
Strong knowledge and understanding of the deployment and management of information technology initiatives using SDLC disciplines with emphasis on operational readiness activities
Solid working knowledge of standard and best practice frameworks and methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, ITIL)
Negotiating skills and the ability to influence others
Strong vendor management skills
Superior interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
