Our client, Zeghers Canada, is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Packaging and Maintenance Labourer to join their team of quality professionals. Zeghers Canada is a Pedigreed Seed dealer and exporter of specialty crops including; Flax, Mustard, Rye, Triticale, Peas, Canary, Damaged Canola, Millets and other in demand products.
The Senior Packaging and Maintenance Labourer is responsible for the processing and packaging functions of Zeghers Canada by ensuring all equipment and machinery are properly maintained and performing at optimal levels. Proactively work with the Warehouse and Packaging Lead and Processing Lead to ensure equipment maintenance orders are fulfilled.
The Senior Packaging and Maintenance Labourer is responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining all SOPs related to equipment and machinery.
- Ensuring all maintenance and records are up to date and maintained.
- Ensuring that quality verification processes are in place and are followed.
- Coordinating the completion of pre-operation check lists.
- Developing and implementing a regular maintenance and calibration schedule.
- Assist with packaging operations as required.
- Developing and implementing a regular maintenance and calibration schedule.
- Ensuring the cleaning and upkeep of bins, equipment and yard is being completed.
- Assisting and developing equipment and forklift training programs.
- Receiving product and storing it in appropriate location.
- Entering information onto log sheets and/or data management systems as required.
- Operating forklift to safely move products as required.
- Loading customer orders.
- Supporting sales and marketing efforts through positive interaction with customers.
- Ensuring accurate and timely data entry of relevant information related to packaging.
- Following all related company and quality policies and procedures.
- Remaining current on required training as per the Zeghers Employee Training Record
About you and your experience:
- Grade 12 education or GED required. Combination of education and experience may be considered an equivalent. A minimum of five years experience in the agriculture or production environments is required.
- Experience in production planning and scheduling based on prioritization of customers’ work orders and optimization of the production cycle.
- Basic training in supply chain management including inbound and outbound logistics.
- Truck and forklift operational training.
- Experience with conducting quality audits and verifying compliance is required.
- Experience with production planning and quality standards is necessary.
- Must have experience dealing with machinery and equipment and be able to coordinate and undertake maintenance and repair issues.
- A high commitment to delivering quality service and products to customers.
