This role will spearhead and own the creation of a new product line within Samasource, this is not a cog-in-the-machine type role, it’s for those who want to set a vision and execute on it. We believe that poverty is a solvable problem. We alleviate poverty by giving digital work. We’re building tools at the intersection of humans and machine learning. Our systems allow impoverished workers to work on digital tasks that are used by high tech companies. We’re playing in a huge space with lots of challenging technical problems. We are looking for someone to roll up their sleeves and help us set a model for how it should be done.

We are building upon our state of the art annotation platform to make it more useful for ML Engineers and Data Scientists. We aim to allow them to benefit from the expertise Samasource has in preparing data for their ML applications while also providing value at the enterprise level. To help with this mission, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and idealistic Senior Product Manager who loves to create innovative, intuitive, and efficient tools for ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Project Managers.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical customer focus and an intuitive sense for product. You’re somebody who spends time with customers, understands the market forces, understands the technical implementation details, can work cross-functionally, knows how to make tradeoff decisions, how to launch and iterate on a product, and can launch successful products into the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop the product strategy for the Customer Facing Platform
Manage expectations at all levels including senior leadership
Own the roadmap for development with your engineering counterparts including producing ROI
tradeoffs
Work with your engineering and UX counterparts on a day-to-day basis to design, build, execute
and launch your products
Own core KPIs for Samasource
Manage relationships with internal teams and external users for early adoption, testing and
production
Develop metrics and tracking frameworks to measure product and feature adoption and impact
Maintain relevant technical product documentation
Advocate Sama technology externally
Collaborate with Marketing and Sales for the GTM of Platform launches
Collaborate with VP of Product on cross-functional strategic initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or technical skills learned on the job
5+ years of product management or similar experience
Shipped a successful product in the last 2 years
Willingness for occasional travel to client sites, outside of COVID, to understand how the Platform
is being used and glean customer insights

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong interest and history of doing work that makes a difference
Previously worked on relevant technical consumer or B2B user technologies
Proven track record of repeatedly shipping successful products
Prior experience working in a startup environment
Be self-driven
Great sense of humor
History of working effectively with remote teams across time zones
MBA
