Job description: Our client is in need of a Senior Strategy Manager – Innovation and Sustainability for an initial 12 month contract.

Our client embarking in an exciting and impactful project to build a self-sustaining camp where youth can reach their full potential by curating experiences connected to nature, community, culture, and technology. This project is composed of various key workstreams led by senior leaders who are passionate about transforming a unique social purpose vision into a market differentiating legacy. The project leadership team is responsible for creating an economically sustainable opportunity while optimizing resources, capital investments and the latest technology and sustainability capabilities.

As the Innovation and Sustainability Sr Strategy Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to provide leadership for your project workstream with a focus on innovation and sustainability while ensuring financial governance and control for this large, complex and strategically important project. You will partner with cross-functional and cross-business unit teams to define, prioritize and bring to life numerous pilots to test technologies in areas of renewable energy, security and automation, agriculture, health and telecom infrastructure to be integrated into the program holistically and in an economically viable way.

You are someone with a research and innovation mindset, business analysis and critical thinking skills, who will help create and integrate innovation and sustainability solutions into the long term program strategy. The ability to lead through collaboration, conduct research using technologies, create solution alternatives, assessments, planning, and analysis is key to the success of the individual in this role. Your expertise will help us drive innovation.

Here’s how

• Showcase and promote opportunities for proof of concept areas available to various internal teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design the research component of the program using our technology by integrating a living lab / proof of concept experience.
• Build and maintain the integrated roadmap for all innovation and sustainability initiatives within the program considering cost, resources, impact and urgency to bring the most value possible
• Provide governance and financial control for pilots within the program while ensuring budgets are allocated correctly internally
• Proactively develop research funding opportunities by demonstrating benefits with potential partnerships
• Lead planning initiatives that translate program strategy into action by working with cross-functional colleagues to inform and influence their decision making
• Assess technology pilot results by analyzing data and applying business knowledge to derive recommendations for potential development of tested technology in the consumer space.
• Manage and balance multiple business unit and senior leadership requirements to meet deadlines and goals in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment
• Build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders groups with whom you will have significant influence
• Confidently express complex ideas, concepts and thoughts clearly to senior leadership through impactful presentations and storytelling

• Outstanding ability to integrate innovation and sustainability in a programmatic way
• Strong business insight and ability to identify new opportunities and connect the dots between related projects and programs
• You have experience assessing trends of technology and environmental impacts and creatively find solutions to address business problems
• Solid business & financial acumen with the ability to provide oversight to assigned budgets and ensure accurate financial allocation
• You have excellent analytical/business modelling skills and enjoy taking on complex challenges
• Experience or education in Sustainability
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology Management, Engineering or relatable area

Nice to have skills:
1. MBA, CPA or equivalent work experience
2. Experience working in a large, matrixed organization
