Job description: As the Senior System Administrator, you are responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of JOEY’s on premise, restaurant and cloud-based servers and infrastructure. You will be directly involved in continually improving operations and upgrading systems to support our growing business. If you’re highly organized, results-oriented, and a great communicator, we would love to speak with you. In this role, you will be expected to hit the ground running with a solid technical skill set. While the primary focus of this role will be infrastructure administration, members of the IT team are expected to support all business technology systems, so there will be numerous opportunities to learn and support a wide range of systems throughout the organization.
Requirements

- Lead all aspects of IT infrastructure administration including servers (both on premise and remote physical, virtual and cloud), communication (LAN, WAN, email, VOIP, etc.), backup, security systems, disaster recovery (DR), and standards / policy compliance
- Contribute to strategic direction for the IT Infrastructure Platform(s) as well as end user service delivery
- Manage overall capacity utilization and optimize infrastructure to meet business requirements
- Actively monitor the network health across all restaurant locations and identify and propose solutions to potential problems/issues before they happen
- Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendors as required
- Identify software and hardware lifecycle upgrades; determine upgrade path of device system software and hardware
- Perform network upgrades and refreshes by conferring with vendors, developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation to ensure it is updated and current for all Restaurant, Head Office and Cloud systems
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking, layer 2 switching, spanning tree, data security, DNS, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, and Email Routing
- Manage the team responsible for internal IT support and administration, continually improving service standards and employee satisfaction. There’s a team of 2 fantastic associates!

- Assist with preparing annual departmental budgets and technology roadmaps
- Work closely with vendors to negotiate, purchase, and provision new systems
- Set hardware replacement cycles, overseeing proactive and cost-effective upgrades
- Act as senior escalation point for helpdesk issues or infrastructure emergencies
- Manage and expand Azure cloud infrastructure
- Ensure security of the network by maintaining policies and procedures, following best practices, and monitoring network security
- Provide tier 2 support to technology helpdesk for all infrastructure and server related issues
Required Experience
- University degree or diploma in technical related area or equivalent experience, with expertise and experience at a level of a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including all levels of management, vendors, suppliers, and peers
- Minimum 5 years experience in managing all aspects of IT infrastructure operations across multiple locations
- Proactive in understanding and staying up-to-date on the current projects in progress, projects in pipeline and operational issues• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time and on budget
- Willing and capable of hands-on technical troubleshooting as needed
- Desire to constantly learn and develop new skillsets, keeping up to date with latest technologies and industry innovation with the ability to think strategically and to anticipate and plan changes and upgrades for future organizational and business needs
- Desire to provide mentorship and training to all other members of the IT team
- Deep and broad understanding of modern computing technology, systems and network architecture, data management, information security, and cloud-based services
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Servers, Active Directory, and MS SQL, Windows Update, core Network/Cisco-Meraki technologies like LAN/WAN, subnets, firewalls, VLAN’s, and VPN, SDN, UCCE, and Cyber-Security tools
- Excellent knowledge of data centre management, cloud service management and data governance, along with computer hardware/software systems and network administration/ installation
- Virtualized server environment management (VMWare, Hyper-V)
- Strong understanding of storage arrays, SANs, and NAS
Other Requirements
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA, CCNA, MCSE, etc.) preferred
- Experience managing a Cisco Meraki network environment preferred
- Microsoft Office 365 administration including SharePoint and Teams experience preferred
- Cloud infrastructure (Azure) experience preferred
- Experience with Veeam preferred• Experience with ConnectWise suite an asset
- Familiarity with hospitality technology systems including POS, Inventory Management, Payment Processing and reporting an asset
- Familiarity with Enterprise software systems including HRIS and financial systems an asset
