POSITION TITLE: SERVICE OPERATIONS MANAGER
REPORTS TO: BRANCH MANAGER
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
At Konecranes we provide industry-leading overhead crane services such as Inspections, Repairs, Preventive Maintenance, Retrofits, and Modernizations on overhead cranes throughout Canada and the world. We serve all major industries in Western Canada including agriculture, manufacturing, energy, mining, and forestry. We are looking for a team player and strong leader to fill a key supervisory role in our Calgary, Alberta office, overseeing field operations throughout Southern Alberta and BC.
As a Service Operations Manager, the successful applicant will provide leadership for all field activities in a fast paced and technical industry and environment. Key responsibilities include field and shop safety, customer satisfaction, quality operations, labor and resource planning, material requisition/preparation, vehicle and equipment management, and project management. It’s a challenging role, but there will be a wealth of experience and support on hand to help you learn and thrive as part of our team as well as formal training on our systems, processes, and products. Some deliverables of the Service Operations Manager:
- Drive customer service excellence. Support and work with our Technicians to ensure our customers’ needs are met or exceeded.
- Support service quotations for repairs and inspections, scope and estimate projects in a timely manner, following established guidelines.
- Provide project management support and field supervision for major projects.
- Direct and assist Planners with the planning and scheduling of service work for the existing service workforce.
- Provide managerial support to the technician workforce. Address performance issues, documenting as required.
- Resolve customer complaints, within established guidelines, to the satisfaction of the customer and in the best interest of the company.
- Ensure time entry and expense reports are complete, accurate and approved.
- Ensure quality control program is administered in accordance with company policy.
- Monitor and coordinate the maintenance of company equipment and assets to ensure they are in proper condition and good working order.
- Ensure branch employees receive appropriate levels of training.
- Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION: Degree, Technical Diploma, or Trade Certification
EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years’ experience in a technical/support role. Familiarity with overhead cranes and their component parts desired. Prior supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible, respectful, and mature approach to leading a team.
- A safe driving record, including a valid driver’s license.
- Must be customer service oriented, willing to go above and beyond to serve a customer.
- Proven well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (especially listening) and be able to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong PC skills, with direct experience working in an ERP system such as SAP an asset.
