The Opportunity:

The Software test Engineer in Test will be part of the QA and Implementation Services division in IT. Their focus will be primarily on building robust, scalable and high-quality test automation solutions. They will collaborate with the QA team and developers through the SDLC to ensure high quality deliverables throughout the company. The Software Test Engineer also be responsible for aiding in testing First National’s internal systems with: functional automation testing, API testing and using agile methodologies.

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance test automation systems and tools for use by test engineers, and QA
• Contribute to the creation, extension, and communication of test automation best practices
• Assist in assessing product quality and release readiness
• Facilitate creation and execution of automated test suites
• Analyze test automation failures and determine the root cause from source code
• Participating in design and architectural discussions
• Assist with the testing of all programming changes affecting First National’s software, b2b connections, webservice calls, documents, underwriting systems, websites, etc. All testing is to be documented and reviewed before sign-off
• Assist with preparing for the implementation of software and product changes
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager

The Requirements Needed:

• Ability to design and develop robust and reusable automation test framework & infrastructure from scratch
• Work experience of using C# and Selenium Webdriver as automation testing tool
• 1 or 2 years of experience using API/service testing tools (SoapUI, Postman)
• Hands on expertise with test automation tools Selenium Webdriver, C#, JavaScript, etc.
• Experience in source configuration tool GIT
• Software development background is preferred
• Proficiency with SQL and an understanding of relational database systems
• Understanding of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including agile software development
• Work experience of object-oriented design and development
• Experience with, or desire to work, in an agile development environment
• A self-motivated team player with an interest in continuous learning
• Strong capability and desire to learn and innovate in a changing environment
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-have

• 1 + year of experience in performance testing and tooling such as (Neoload, LoadRunner, etc.)
• 1 + year of experience using Testcomplete, Protractor, or Cypress
• 1 + year of experience in testing Angular JS applications by using Protractor or Cypress
