Job description: Our enterprise-sized leading energy client headquartered in Calgary is seeking a full time Sr. Enterprise Architect to develop enterprise wide strategic IT and business roadmaps.

Must-Have:

• 10+ years of experience in information technology

• Strong knowledge in a broad range of technologies such as Red Hat Linux; Microsoft Windows; SQL and noSQL databases; networking; storage; security; virtualization; web/application desktops; telephony; cloud (IaaS, PaaS, e.g. OpenShift, SaaS); Software Defined Data Centres; and systems monitoring tools
• 5+ years of experience generating technical roadmaps and architectures to lead architecture concepts aligned with business strategy
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or management information systems or equivalent
• Experience presenting ideas and influencing senior leadership within and outside of IT
• Applied knowledge of TOGAF and other industry standards and practices such as ITIL

Nice-to-have:

• Certification in enterprise architecture such as the open group architecture framework (TOGAF)
• Industry knowledge: Oil and gas, Downstream Retail, Supply/Trading/Logistics, Refining/Fuel Blending, Mining, Pipelines, SAGD
• Understanding of DevOps
• Experience modelling using Archimate in Abacus

Overview: You will help this client create the workplace of the future by developing enterprise wide strategic roadmaps for the business portfolio in alignment with business and IT strategy. You will also bring your innovative technology mindset to provide technical leadership to the Enterprise Architecture team and work with a distributed architecture team to further develop the architecture practice, drive overall standards and shape their Enterprise Architecture domain to enable business technology strategies within the business. The primary focus of your role will be to build and manage the digital architecture road maps, and reference architecture to map the evolution of the portfolio applications and technology from current to future state.
