Job Summary: Assist in the daily operation and administration of network and server operating system environments.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years related experience or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of general PC computer systems
  • Good knowledge of both UNIX and Windows OS environments
  • Strong knowledge of VMWare
  • Strong knowledge of Veeam and other backup systems
  • Strong knowledge of MES and other Shop Floor systems
  • Strong knowledge of OPC servers
  • Good knowledge in computer networking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • May be required to have proficiency in languages other than English

Essential Functions:

  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer servers, and assist user community with general computer usage
  • Maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Maintain communications, including LAN, WAN and internet
  • Maintain e-mail access / fax connections
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems
  • Assist with contingency plans
  • Maintain license & warranty information (asset management)
  • Assist with Hardware, Software Procurement
  • Administrate CMS ERP System
  • Security system administrator
  • IT support and maintenance MRP IS system
  • Maintain, administrate the plant MES systems
  • Other tasks relevant to IT based on supervisor request and company needs
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Compliance with applicable laws
  • Maintain and upgrade desktop and server operating systems and computing images including virus protection
  • Maintain IT records
  • Consult on IT related asset purchases
  • Required to work extra hours and travel to meet Customer needs

Work Environment:

  • Office environment and plant floor (PPE required)
  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Flexible hours as required

Physical Demands:

  • Desk work
  • Overtime as required

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
