Department Overview
The business marketing team is responsible for partnering with the business units and channels within TD to create and execute world class marketing plans that drive shareholder value and increase customer loyalty. The team owns creating B2B consumer insights, monitoring trends, building marketing strategies and plans, developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns and 1:1 strategies, management and allocation of the marketing budget, and measuring/improving market results. As a key business partner, the business marketing team acts as a key consultant to the business on all aspects of marketing, influencing the business strategy, as well as ensuring that the TD brand is protected and delivered in the customer experience.
The Business Banking Marketing team acts as a leader within the organization to drive B2B centric programs and initiatives across TD. The Senior Marketing Manager, Business Banking, Merchant Solutions, TD Auto Finance and B2B Segments leads a team of marketing professionals in the development and delivery of effective marketing plans / programs / projects / strategies in support of overall business results.
Job Description
Accountabilities:
- Business Banking, Merchant Solutions, TD Auto Finance and B2B Segments: Lead a team of marketing professionals in the development of TD’s Business Banking strategy in Canada and the delivery of the roadmap across various B2B products. Work in close collaboration with marketing colleagues and business partners, to build new and optimize current programs with a business customer first approach. Design and implement test strategies to optimize program effectiveness and results.
- B2B Consumer Insights and Trends: Coach the team to understand & synthesize B2B consumer trends, maintain a broad view of market and / or industry changes, identify research gaps and plan market research, interpret B2B consumer information, anticipate customer opportunities and generate and apply customer insights.
- Build and Protect the Brand: Provide advice and guidance to employees and business partners on maintaining the brand image, standards, application and execution. Understand end to end customer journeys and support the business to deliver the brand through customer experience.
- Marketing Strategies and Plans: Understand market and growth drivers, create a vision of market, channel, and segment potential, develop value propositions and proof points that further our competitive advantage, translate business strategies into marketing plans. Identify clear choices, make tradeoff recommendations, and recommend resource and spending allocations. Coach team to deliver annual marketing plans, with all stakeholder approvals.
- Influencing Business Strategy: Provide thought leadership and strategic advice, be the voice of the customer and a trusted advisor to business partners for all marketing and customer activities. Influence and have an impact on price, product, distribution and promotions. Build and maintain close working relationships with key business partners to understand and influence business strategic priorities, and direction, ensuring that business objectives can be converted into effective marketing plans or customer strategies.
- Coach & Develop the Team: Develop a team of marketers in all aspects of marketing competencies and act as a resource and mentor to others. Deliver on strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly diverse, qualified and engaged team to fulfill current and future business needs
- Deliver and Monitor Results: Strategic interpretation of results to drive business objectives
- Builds innovation culture: Create an environment that fosters innovation from the team
- Portfolio budget: coach and lead the team through the development of budget allocations and manage budget at the portfolio level, ensuring spend is optimized on high performing/high ROI initiatives
- Problem Solving: Resolve escalations
Requirements
Education/Accreditations:
Post-secondary education in Business or Marketing, MBA would be an asset
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- 10+ years of Marketing experience, with deep knowledge of marketing and a demonstrated ability to apply strategies. Able to manage and coach through; budget, project management, results reporting, analysis and problem solving.
