This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Manager of Assistive Technology, the Stores Clerk B is responsible for the procurement of stock and non-stock supplies, receipt and issuing of supplies used in the department; the offloading and receipt of goods from delivery vehicles; the proper storage and rotation of stock; checking orders for discrepancies; the input and monitoring of inventory data and the monitoring and follow up of requisitions through the procurement process. The stores clerk locates items to order, including special and rush requests, completes requisitions and obtains purchase orders for products, coordinates and facilitates returned products and collaborates with buyers/supply chain and following up on errors and outstanding credits with Accounts Payable; ensure products are purchased as required in a timely manner. The stores clerk liaises with clinical staff to obtain information on supply requirements, locates and obtains items on short notice and ensures supply inventory is always maintained. Cross training and coverage may be required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • One year related experience
  • Understanding of Assistive Technologies and prior knowledge of Prosthetic/Pedorthic/Orthotic Parts and components preferred
  • Medical Terminology
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Window, Excel, Word
  • Excellent telephone and email etiquette and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Purchasing policies and procedures
  • Experience using SAP to place and receive orders
  • Understanding of and commitment to the protection of patients’ personal health information and associated hospital policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Inventory management software, bin & barcode utilization, preferred
  • Materials Management Experience an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$20.0923 – $21.9129/hourly
