RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within the project team environment from preliminary stages of the design through to completion
- Ensure construction plans and specifications meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Familiarity with Ontario Building Code is an asset.
- Structural design and evaluation of building components, including wood, concrete, steel, and masonry
- Site investigation and evaluation of existing building structures and write field reports.
- Preparation and review of drawings or drafting in AutoCAD
- Coordination and communicate with other engineers, architects, contractors, designers and homeowners
- Review and seal their own and junior engineer’s design work as applicable
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Structural/Civil Engineering
- Valid P.Eng designation
- 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering within Canada
- Experience with the Ontario Building Code and engineering design codes
- Effective in team leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience AutoCAD suite
- Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel
