We are a small chocolate-manufacture processing raw cacao beans to bulk chocolate ingredients. We are a single source origin, and cacao beans from Cameroon, the centre region. Our aim is to promote co-development, sustainability on an international scale. One objective of Emkao Foods is to ensure that smallholder farmers are paid fair prices for their hard work at the farm gate level. The production of cacao beans is a profitable resource for international markets, so it must be the same for smallholder farms.

Emkao Foods Inc is the only manufacturer of raw cacao beans to bulk chocolate ingredients on the west coast o Canada.

Your Experience and Qualifications Include:

  • Experience in the food manufacturing environment will be proffered but not necessary as Emkao Food will provide training.
  • GMP, Food Safety Certificate, WHMIS, or similar regulatory experience will be preferred but not necessary as Emkao Foods Inc will provide training.
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift & no lifting restrictions, frequent lifting of up to 45 lbs.
  • Should not have any allergies to dairy, whey, or nut products.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and/or french (Both written and verbal) & possess basic math skills.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, work in cooperation with others, & must be attentive to details to ensure accuracy of work assignments. must be able to keep up to pace with others on the production line.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend instructions and customer specifications.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Responsible for general duties involving physical handling and storage of products, materials, machinery and supplies.
  • Follow the required company SOP’s, GMP’s, & Health & Saftey Standards prepare the packaging line for operation by filling the equipment with product, boxes, bags, lids, labels.
  • Ensure accuracy of all production data including quantities, dates, labels, packaging.
  • Effective running of all relevant equipment & reporting any equipment defects to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the product is being packed is the right proper container, tray, bag, box and to ensure standards are being followed when weighing product.
  • Ensure all production materials are available, set up machinery, change equipment, operate & monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
  • Determine and report equipment malfunction to appropriate parties.
  • Maintain cleanliness & sanitation of equipment and assigned area.
  • Cross-training to rotate through various positions on the production line.
  • Review customer specifications prior to running production.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to minimize non-conformity.
  • Ensure that all non-conforming products are placed in a scrap bin for rework or disposal.
  • Execute necessary paperwork and documentation, including recording production, deliveries either electronically or manually as required.
  • Must be open to working night shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position reports directly to the Line Managers: Product Supervisor.
