The Team Attendant is a member of the Departmental team and is assigned to work with members of the care delivery team to provide support to patients and patient care staff. The Team Attendant is responsible for contributing to patient flow in the assigned departments by carrying out portering duties, stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment, assisting regulated staff and performing various housekeeping duties. You will rotate through Hemodialysis Units (CP2 and 2 Central) and Satellites as necessary. You may be scheduled at the General or Birchmount campus based on departmental needs.
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, including the Nocturnal Dialysis shift.

Requirements:

  • High school Diploma
  • Demonstrates excellent English reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills
  • Physical capabilities to perform duties as outlined in the physical demands
  • Proven ability to perform in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain patience, compassion and a courteous manner in relationships with patients, families and co-workers
  • Demonstrated good customer service and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to accept direction and guidance
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN’s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area
  • Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
  • Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.

Asset:

  • Previous/current team attendant experience
