YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Team Lead – Logistics Operational Excellence, you will manage a team, budgets and projects, and also be responsible for developing, defining and implementing new processes, equipment and packaging related to management of inbound materials for manufacturing plants in North America.
Over the first 3 months, you will:
- Take charge of ongoing packaging projects, feasibility studies (IRR) and short-term deliverables
- Build a network of contacts from the various BRP sites and from multidisciplinary partner teams
- Be responsible for ongoing strategic projects and project plans
- Structure an analytical approach within the team to translate logistics costs like space, packaging, labour, inventory and transportation into indicators and dashboards to quantify inbound logistics and guide decision making
Over the next year, you will:
- Establish the vision and RFID technology requirements for managing returnable packaging
- Conduct a feasibility study to form a global packaging management team by determining relevant requirements and potential benefits
- Implement a strategy to simulate logistics flows when opening new plants or creating new projects
- Determine packaging strategies, improve parts container standards and ensure compliance with them
- Develop logistics strategies that are aligned with the corporate vision and implement innovative ways of doing things to continuously improve logistics processes, including packaging needs management
- Propose and conduct feasibility studies, and lead initiatives to optimize logistics costs and make improvements
- Ensure production at new facilities related to a strategic growth project under your responsibility
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in project management
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing professionals
- Advanced bilingualism, both written and spoken (English/French), Spanish an asset
- Proven leadership skills, solid communication skills, excellent team player
- Project and budget management skills
- Innovative mind, solid problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail
- Strong analysis and synthesis skills
- Sense of initiative and excellence, self-reliance, structure and rigour
- Knowledge of analytical tools (Power BI) an asset
- Knowledge of technology related to materials management (scanners, RFID, voice picking, etc.) an asset
- Knowledge of packaging management processes in a manufacturing context
- Willingness to travel on occasion
