We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to manage technology projects and refine our tools and processes. You will ensure project success by delivering every project on time, within budget and scope. You can take large complex projects and break them down into manageable phases, develop functional specifications, and then work with the team to deliver them in a successful and timely manner.
Given that our exciting projects span software, hardware, IoT applications and Data Science, it will help to have a background in software development.
What you will do:
- Develop project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Work closely with UI/UX designer to create wireframes to guide development
- Understand product requirements and translate them into actionable plans
- Plan and coordinate project schedules, goals and milestones, and work with leads to assign appropriate resources
- Identify project risks and plans to mitigate them
- Maintain detailed status, activities and issue reports on projects to present to senior management and major project stakeholders
- Write periodic reports for project follow-ups and lessons learned from completed projects
- Adhere to budgets and keep projects on track for successful completion within specification
- Identify creative solutions to project roadblocks and resolve issues and constraints with appropriate input
- Encourage collaboration and proactively seek opportunities to improve collaboration between teams
- Work closely and act as a liaison with product manager, UX designer and cross-functional teams for assigned projects
- Ensure teams have the necessary resources to carry out their duties
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve collaboration and handoffs between teams
- Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure risks and impact of any scope changes are understood and approved
- Negotiate prioritization between product managers and technical leadership
- Work with business stakeholders to manage and organize user acceptance testing
Requirements
We want you to succeed, so you will need:
- 3 + years experience in a project management role
- Ability to work independently with high degree of initiative
- Ability to multitask and juggle multiple projects at one time
- Proficient in conflict resolution and comfortable working with technical and business teams
- Strong presentation skills, both oral and written
- Experience with teams performing new product development while simultaneously supporting existing products
- Excellent knowledge of project management and issue management tools
- Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and network technologies
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to communicate business slack and user needs to technical audiences
Nice to have:
- PMP certification
- Experience working with remote teams
