Reports to the Instrumentation Supervisor, Engineering.
This position is located in Redwater, Alberta, Canada and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
- Provide Instrumentation detail design and engineering for the site Management of Change (MOC) process including the development of the Construction Work Package (CWP) and supporting field construction, installation, commissioning and startup activities
- Provide technical support to the Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations groups
- Lead the development of instrumentation systems for Capital Projects, Maintenance Projects and Management of Change (MOC) projects
- Capital Project support (or lead) on Instrumentation and Controls, develop scope definition, design, and engineering
- Review external detail design and Construction Work Packages (CWP’s) and or develop in house Construction Work Packages (CWP’s) and supporting field construction, installation, commissioning and startup activities
- Technical resource for the Engineering, Maintenance, and Operation of the instrument systems including troubleshooting and solving day-to-day instrumentation problems in our operating plants
- Support work activities for Nutrien’s Process Safety Management System – Instrumentation and Controls Equipment Mechanical Integrity Standard, Safety Instrumented System Standard and RFO Critical System Instrumentation Standard
What you will bring:
- 2 year Instrumentation Technology Diploma
- Be C.E.T. or P.Tech. member of ASET in good standing
- Strong knowledge and 10+ years of experience with instrumentation associated with process plants
- Strong knowledge of, Instrument field measurement, means and method, shutdown system, PLC’s, materials and industry standards
- The necessary skillset to produce very detailed and accurate wiring and hookup packages
- Ability to work on multiple MOC’s and projects, and meeting department goals / critical timelines
- Ability to work on their own and produce detailed design – construction work packages (CWP’s) on medium to complex instrumentation work
- Familiarity with DCS, PLCs, industrial networking, SIS / SIL and safety trip systems are considered an asset
