About this role

The Technology Director, Global Finance & Inventory Systems will build a holistic technology strategy, roadmap aligned with the lululemon’s vision and goals. You will be executing initiatives on the technology roadmap for a broad spectrum of Finance, FP&A, Tax, Real Estate and Inventory capabilities. Your direct experience with Oracle EBS, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Analytics, Oracle RMS, Vertex, Coupa, Lucernex and/or other related will prove to invaluable. You will lead multiple product engineering teams, each composed of multidisciplinary teams (Security DevOps), through end-to-end lifecycles of complex products from ideation to implementation.

You will lead the modernization of financial and inventory technology (FIT) by driving the transformation of lululemon’s systems and operations. The shared finance services, tax services, financial planning, forecasting, real estate management, Finance BI reporting, business process automation, FP & A data analytics, Inventory and Stock ledger operations will be the focus areas. Leading, defining the product roadmap, product architecture & engineering, and innovation & improvements will be exciting areas for you to thrive in. You will develop impactful stories around innovation with prototypes and develop and nurture successful relationships with senior leadership. The products, engineering, and services you advocate for will provide a strategic direction for our technical, finance, and inventory capabilities. Your value propositions will impact our finance and inventory process.

  • 2-4 Direct reports with 20-25 total FTE’, 10-16 contract employees, and up to 7 business partners.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent for your team as a leader.
  • You will support 10+ systems supporting our global finance functions.
  • Our Capex investment has grown to 14M and Opex to 6.5M.
  • The director will drive our new Robotics Process Automation (RPA) and Procure to Pay (P2P) capabilities.
  • Partners with finance and FP&A to develop product portfolios driven from guest/educator needs.
  • Document finance and inventory system API’s consistently.
  • Develop and measure clear product KPIs, derive key insights, and devise and execute proof-of-concept executions to learn.
  • Develop metrics to measure success and ensure ability for on-going monitoring of post-launch results through analysis and reporting.
  • Continuously monitor and share emerging technology trends, competitive experiences and best-of-breed Financial and inventory capabilities executions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of Oracle Financials & inventory product architecture and engineering background; In-depth experience in building, assembling and delivery of Oracle financials and inventory technology products
  • Proven experience managing a product portfolio of Finance technology capabilities
  • Proven success stories in leading end-to-end the launch of multiple Oracle SaaS suites and products with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience bringing Oracle financials and inventory SaaS experiences to life for global retailers; ideally 3+ years’ experience in this area.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field desired.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading high-performance, cross-functional product engineering teams or related.
  • Demonstrated success working with various, cross-functional, internal and external groups to deliver meaningful results on time and on budget with limited direction.
  • Proven experience in a dynamic, Agile/Lean environment with proven ability to develop, communicate and gain consensus on a technical product.
  • Strong communication and “story-telling” skills – ability to articulate a vision or concept in simple terms to a broad audience at every level.
  • Collaborative and hands-on team player. Strong passion for creating engaging, compelling Finance and inventory capabilities to support global retailing business.

Key role challenges summary

You will own all aspects of the finance business enablement capabilities, from discovery to launch. Ensuring the products and services are connecting with our financial processes, services and capabilities, and creating the right engagement for our Finance and FP&A partners will be crucial. Leading and managing multiple engineering teams while providing direction for leaders across program management, domain architecture, engineering, analytics, and quality assurance for a $12M+ Finance and inventory technology investment portfolio. By partnering with executives across lululemon to develop a cohesive strategy, technology roadmap, and to ensure business objectives are met and enabling our overall business and growth, you will experience success and a sense of accomplishment regularly.
