OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a General Labourer (Temp), who will report directly to the Production Manager in our Peterborough, ON facility. We are looking for someone who comes to work each day with our shared purpose: to create safe and healthy spaces for people everywhere.

General Job Description Summary

The General Labourer is responsible for completing tasks assigned in support of the Production Team. This contract requires the General Labourer to work with raw chemicals for compound mixing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate mixers used to manufacture Cleaning Solutions.
  • Responsible for following the batch instructions to mix Solutions.
  • Obtain approved work order from Stager along with raw materials for particular batch.
  • Retain batch sample for Quality Assurance Testing.
  • Report discrepancies with Product in progress to Supervisor.
  • Completing all daily checks of equipment prior to use.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of equipment machinery, supplies, products and tolls with significant capital value.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Final packaging and securing of product packages, pallets, and skids.
  • Assisting Line Packagers in building skids and pallets.
  • Filling in where necessary.
  • Working safely and efficiently in a Team environment.
  • General housekeeping of the production and warehouse areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience in similar environment is an asset.
  • Experience operating Forklifts and other machinery an asset.
  • Strong communication skills (verbally and in writing).
  • WHMIS and Transporting Dangerous Goods certificate (training & testing).
  • Intermediate computer literacy (Word, Excel, email, etc).
  • Experience with SAP an asset.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Education

  • High School Diploma

Physical Demands:

  • Conditions may cause some stress or physical discomfort due to exposure to: repetitive lifting, handling chemicals, moving product more than 50 lbs., time constraints, temperature variations, noise.
  • Moderate mental intensity activities add up to an average of two hours a day
  • Requires bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
