Southbridge Care Homes are currently looking to add one a caring, passionate, and enthusiastic Temporary Therapeutic Recreation at our Thunder bay, ON location to our amazing home family, who can serve our lovely residents, to keep them safe, healthy, and happy. On a daily basis our Director of Care will enhance the effective management keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care. As a Casual Therapeutic Recreation , you will be accountable for…
- Assist with the therapeutic and diversion program development, planning and handling documentation by collaborating with various departments.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, assist fund raising programs and handle public relation factors.
- Deliver excellent customer service by meeting the needs of our clients, residents, families, and external stakeholders.
- Participate in annual financial budget (program budget) procedure and assist in human resources operations related to recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and payroll operations.
- Monitor services, operations and implement required process improvement strategies to ensure the best quality delivery.
- Manage the occupational health and safety procedures for employees (Workers, volunteers, and contractors) making sure clear communication channels and record management, ensuring company policy as well as government policies.
- Act as a key contact for all the staff for RAI and MDS completion, demonstrate leadership and data management practices.
- Handle confidential information related to the home and employees operations and ensure safety procedures are kept at the priority for the safety of our staff members and residents.
- Other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Post-secondary degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or other related field from the university or community college.
- At least two years of experience in the same roles, preferably in the long-term care sector.
- At least one year of leadership experience required.
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Management, Finance Operations and Project Management can be considered as an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Products (Outlook, Powerpoint and Word) required.
