Job description: We are a well established international trading company in the wood import and export business (established in 1987). We are looking for a person to join our Logistics Team in our Yorkton, SK location. You must have integrity, energy, enthusiasm, be willing to learn and be a team player.

Job Responsibilities:
– Source and secure transportation for all truck loads
– Work with internal software to update shipment details
– Prepare truck releases for reloads
– Monitor shipments and provide update to customers
– Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to carriers, customers and agents in a timely manner
– Ensure timely resolution of any freight issues
– Obtain quotes from various carriers and evaluate pricing/quotes
– Negotiate pricing with carriers and in addition source new potential carriers
– Verify sales orders in internal software & provide back up for order entry when required
– Act as back-up for other sales department trade & logistics colleagues
– Ensure you are at work promptly at 09:00 EST each work day.
– Provide high-quality customer service to all carriers and customers

The successful candidate will be fluent in English. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

We will train the right person although a previous understanding of logistics and the lumber industry is an asset.

Salary commensurate with experience, however we value our loyal employees and pay them accordingly.
