Job Description

Tuff Steam and Vacuum Services have been in business since 2008. Tuff Steam first began as Tuff

Steaming and Pressure Washing and opened shop with just 1 Pressure Washer/Steam Truck.

Today the company operates with a fleet of Vacuum Trucks, Combo units, and Steam/Pressure

washers.

Transport Truck drivers facilitate services such as hydro-vac, straight-vac, and steam truck services

through transporting the heavy-duty long and straight vehicle combinations from Alberta. This

job requires the driver to work full time, on-call Sunday through Saturday, for $25.00/hour CAD

while training and $27/hour while operating. The schedule is usually on call from 7am-5pm, evening

and night on calls are possible, every second weekend in the month is off. The driving range is about

150km from home site.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate straight and long special purpose vehicles to provide clients with services such as hydro-vac, straight-vac, or steam truck
  • Drive across far distances with heavy-duty vehicles and meeting delivery dates in accordance with safety procedures within
  • Inspect the vehicle’s system and body, such as brakes, turning signals, and cargo, meet road safety standards prior to and during the trip
  • Maintain records of vehicle safety inspections, fuel consumption, and bill of lading either through manual or electronic logbooks
  • Obtain special documentation or permits to transport on the required route
  • Assist supervisor in planning logistics of the transport route
  • Communicate with client, supervisor, or other drivers for delays and updates
  • Preform limited roadside maintenance in the case of an emergency
  • Take required courses as offered by Tuff Steaming to be able to operate the vehicle

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess mechanical knowledge to perform roadside assistance if necessary
  • Minimum A Class 3 or D license for straight body trucks, or equivalent.
