Position Summary
Our client is a major commercial property owner, developer, and property management firm with a portfolio of more than 150 properties across Canada. They seek a Vice President, Finance.to negotiate and arrange financing for acquisition, construction, secured debt and corporate needs, including unsecured debentures and equity.
Responsibilities:
- Take on a leadership role and provide support for the Finance & Treasury team in the functions required for funding acquisitions, construction, secured debt, to include financial analysis, ensuring that financing instruments placed are consistent with the Trust’s overall business strategy;
- Support the CFO and President and C.E.O. in investor relations activities and guidance to investment analysts;
- Support decision-making at the Executive level related to funding of acquisitions and financial risk management;
- Nurture the existing relationships within the banking and financing industry and develop new relationships to ensure the viability of the Trust’s goals and financial requirements;
- Nurture relationships with your peers within the organization to ensure unity and effectiveness in leadership ;
- Maintain and strengthen relationship with partners, major anchor tenants, JV partners, and the financial community;
- Maintain a strategic focus on the political, economic, and financial trends in the marketplace, which includes local, national, and globally advising the Trust and relative to capital market conditions and financing techniques;
- Analyze and support the maintenance of all processes and documentation to effectively manage and control the corporate finance function and its integration to Executive management information systems;
- Be a champion of change through personal leadership.
- Manage a small team of Finance professionals
Requirements:
- CPA, MBA, CFA or bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in real estate finance activities;
- Practice in banking & finance developing and arranging financing instruments for real estate development;
- Practice in public capital markets activity including raising equity and debt financing and communication with banks and other financial stakeholders;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within, as well as outside the organization.
