Position Summary
As a Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will lead the storage and movement of goods internationally along with creating accurate trade documentation for assigned regions, products and aftermarket requirements. Will manage a team of 2 in logistics, 8 in shipping and 8 in receiving. We are looking for a candidate with good organizational, time management and communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing requirements and proactively identify and recommend strategies to optimize or improve performance at every logistics touch point.
Accountabilities
Coordinate LCL and FCL Global Air and Ocean shipments and ensuring shipments are picked up and delivered on time.
Support trade compliance and broker activity.
Problem solve shipments and activities stuck in transit. File claims and keep track of claims with carriers for damaged/ lost shipments.
Provide freight quotes and tracking information to Customer Service team.
Freight payment auditing.
Identify, lead and report on status of duty drawback opportunities and programs.
Ensure proper import record keeping and run duty drawback and recovery programs.
Utilize the Management of Change (MoC) process to validate and gain consensus between cross functional teams before implementing transformation action plan.
Identify, develop, plan and implement infrastructure capital projects, factory layout changes, new storage and material presentation to the line.
Organize, implement and maintain shipping, receiving and warehouse process flow to maximize throughput and minimize space usage.
Measures of Performance
Improve trade compliance processes and documentation.
Identify mechanisms to support and improve on-time delivery goals.
Identify and lead traffic savings and productivity improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Business degree in Supply Chain Logistics, ISM or CPSM or CCLP or APICS (CLTD) designation
Minimum 4 years’ experience in import, export and global trade compliance requirements or customs clearance and international logistics role
Knowledge of security compliance data elements (PIP, CT-PAT, Denied Party Screening, etc.)
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Access
Experience working with MRP/ERP system (BAAN, BAAN LN)
Powerful negotiation skills to improve contracts and generate savings
Possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) or similar designation is considered an asset
Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma training and experience would be helpful
