Our client in the retail and manufacturing space is looking for a strongly motivated and entrepreneurial minded finance and accounting leader. The VP Finance/CFO responsibilities will include leading and overseeing the finance and accounting functions, maintaining and reporting financial statements, strategic financial analysis, interfacing with lenders, and cash management. The VP Finance/CFO will work directly with the President to ensure the company operations remain on track to hit target goals and will serve as a main driver of strategic planning. This is a very hands on and strategic position.

Responsibilities of the VP Finance/CFO is as follows:

Oversee all aspects of finance and accounting including:

  • Managing payables, receivables, cash management, payroll and tax preparation
  • Regular financial reporting (e.g. preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements), forecasts, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management
  • Timely and accurately provide reporting of financial information to all major company stakeholders (lenders, etc.)
  • Develop appropriate performance tracking metrics
  • Develop appropriate processes and procedures
  • Help develop and implement a strategy to improve the Company’s profitability and grow the business
  • Evaluate current accounting and business systems and recommend improvements
  • Lead development of accounting process & recommend system improvements to improve efficiency of accounting function
  • Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross team processes with a focus on sustainable value creation for all stakeholders
  • Manage the annual financial audit and statement preparation
  • Lead and manage annual budgeting process

Job Requirements:

  • CPA Designation and Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting
  • Proven work experience in retail, real estate, manufacturing, and/or distribution settings
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance
  • Strong Microsoft Excel
  • An entrepreneurial mind set with outstanding attention to detail, analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Excellent communication skills and proven leadership experience
  • A problem solver with strong analytical skills and an ability to develop creative solutions to organizational challenges
  • An individual who takes full ownership and initiative of all aspects of the Company
