POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Manager is fully responsible for the safe and efficient operation of product delivery services to regional FBN customers. This includes (but is not limited to) overseeing the supervision of shipping and receiving, stock maintenance and picking, health and safety procedures and ensuring adherence to FBN’s operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Motivate, direct and evaluate all direct reports through regular formal and informal discussions, including annual evaluations and goal setting sessions, to enhance employee job satisfaction and maximize productivity
- Conduct daily inspections of the entire property to identify safety and maintenance issues and concerns
- Maintain all equipment and warehouse facilities in a safe and responsible manner and recommend improvement for facilities, new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment to maximize facility output; ensure all such installations or upgrades are conducted in accordance with municipal, provincial and federal regulations
- Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, staff and co-workers
- Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes and key performance indicators
- Support, promote and participate in the management of health and safety initiatives and reporting that support a safety-first culture
- Ensure that all employees have appropriate training, resources, certifications, managerial support and guidance
- Respond to stakeholder concerns in a timely manner
- Manage Customer shipping process leveraging FBN’s technology platforms. Ensures that the product delivered on schedule under the agreed upon terms and conditions
- Where required, operate lift truck, skid steer and pallet jack
- Ensure that inventory is inspected, received, properly labeled, stored and shipped according to MSDS and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform manual lifting, stacking, loading and unloading (up to approx. 50lbs)
- Report and record accidents, near-misses and safety concerns to appropriate FBN representative(s)
- Other duties as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- (Preferred) Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehousing or related field
- Completed or working towards Agricultural Chemical Dispensary License
- 5+ years’ experience in Contract Logistics / 3PL / Distribution Centre / Warehousing environment
- 5+ years leadership / supervisory experience with ~3-10+ direct reports
- Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehouse materials (MSDS, equipment checklist, BOL)
- Understanding of provincial and local health & safety regulations regarding the handling and transportation of agricultural products throughout territory

- Highly independent, goal-oriented and solution driven
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter
- Knowledge of all applicable health and safety and employment standards;
- Ability to work well within time constraints, able to effectively prioritize in a high demand environment within multiple locations
- Must be able to travel ~5% of the time
