Job title: Warehouse-Material Handler
Job description: Position Profile:
The position receives, stores, picks and ships green coffee in a safe and efficient manner, while maintaining warehousing records, machinery and equipment in good order.
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Accurately documents receipt and shipping of all green coffee / finished goods and other materials, including assembling and consolidating orders, loading and unloading vehicles and maintaining pallet control
- Prepares and controls documentation for shipping and receiving, and provides liaison with suppliers, customers, and transport companies as required
- Maintain warehouse inventory and cycle counts
- Maintains warehouse in a clean and orderly condition with timely removal of all waste
- Operates various lift equipment and other warehouse equipment in accordance with safety protocols and equipment operating procedures
- Works in a safe and responsible manner and complies with all Health & Safety, HACCP and GMP policies
- Complies with Seaforth’s environmental guidelines and procedures
- Performs other related or miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Carries out all required operating procedures
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year logistics and/or warehousing experience – food grade is an asset
- Experience working with inventory management systems
- Green coffee handling experience an asset
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- The ability to operate as part of a warehouse team, with limited supervision
- Aptitude to troubleshoot and utilize computers and mechanical systems,
- The ability to read and understand operating manuals
- Numerical skills in order to check loads, calculate trucking needs, check inventories, etc.
- Ability to accurately and legibly document receipts / shipments, picked orders, etc.
- Ability to liaise effectively inside and outside the organization, including good verbal communication skills.
- Physically fit, with ability to move/lift heavy loads
- Ability to safely and properly operate and maintain a lift truck
- Ability to properly calibrate and operate a legal, for-trade scale
- Knowledge and use of databases and spreadsheets to manage and track coffee flow and inventories
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills
- The ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Fast learner with a “can do” attitude
- Reliable, accountable and trust-worthy
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid lift truck certificate (training will be provided if necessary)
- Current WorkSafeBC Approved Level 1 First Aid (training will be provided if necessary)
- Steel toed boots
- Must be bondable

Compensation:
- $18.58 an hour as per collective agreement
- Regular performance reviews
- 40 hour work week – Monday – Friday 9:00am-5:30 pm pm with occasional overtime
